Missions

At Cloverdale Church of God we not only believe in and support missions, we have sent out and provide partial support for missionaries. Pastor Don Armstrong and his wife Caroline lead our missions program. Don and Caroline were missionaries in Tanzania for 16 years. Our church has regularly scheduled mission projects – both domestic and overseas.

We currently provide partial support for several missionaries from our own congregation –Bob and Linda Scheele who work with Time Ministries in the Monterrey, Mexico area and in Dallas, Texas. Linda’s work is principally in the office of Time Ministries; Bob’s work involves building and construction planning for the many Time Ministries projects. Cindi Elerick is supported through her national Circuit Riders ministry to motorcyclists, prison inmates, counseling and concern for those who have gone through the criminal justice system.

We support Ben and Kelli Shular who work with Global Missions of the Church of God in Babati, Tanzania. Ben and Kelli work as managers of the Aldersgate Secondary School, managers of the Children of Promise child sponsorship program and with the church leaders in planning and continued leadership growth of the Church of God in Tanzania.

Each year we provide an opportunity for people to serve on overseas Mission’s Trips that allows people to apply their faith to practical applications. Last year we spent two weeks in Babat, Tanzania, working with Ben and Kelli Shular at the Aldersgate School campus. This year we are planning to travel to Monterrey, Mexico and work with Bob and Linda Scheele in the orphanage that Time Ministries has founded and that Bob built.

For those who don’t want to travel overseas we help the Idaho Food Bank provide food to the Somali refugees who have been located to Boise by the US Government. As a church we provide food in March and August as well as assistance in serving the food. We are also involved with the Boise retirement center on N. 33 rd Ave. in Boise. This is a low income retirement center that we work with to provide housing for retirees with not so much income.
